It's important to take in the small victories as they come as a new writer.

I published my first novel in December 2024 and I can confirm that five people have read it! I am an unknown at this time, but the goal is to write, not to be famous. So I am extremely happy that this many people have had the chance to enjoy my writing.
It was family, friends, and one beta reader (thank you to that wonderful person!). It's so fun to get feedback from them. My sister said she read it all in one day. My friend read it over a few weeks and texted me every time there was a twist and turn. It was real-time feedback, which was really cool.
My mom (yes, my mom) read it and was a little scandalized by some of it, but generally liked the overall arc of the story. The one guy who read it said that Roan would "tie him to the bed," and that she's "intense." I agree with him.
What I'm trying to say is that I will always take the small victories as a writer. I have no visions of fame, instead I write to soothe my own soul and to tell stories that are important, and hopefully inspire creativity in others. I believe creativity is an important force in our world, something that can heal us, something that can guide us.
I hope you enjoy reading about my journey. I encourage any creatives here to share their journey with me via email if you're comfortable sharing! Peace and love.
